Coming up in November: Tech Trends Day

We're planning our November event; keep Thursday, November 13 open if you're interested in an evening of discussion about implementing content management systems and structured authoring.

Watch this blog and our site for details.

Competition -- accepting entries, seeking judges

In case you've missed it, STC Toronto is again holding a local technical publication (print, online) competition, and we're accepting entries until mid-November. We're also looking for judges to help assess the entries and provide feedback to the entrants.

Entering the competition gives you a chance to get feedback on your work from peers working outside your context -- a fresh set of eyes can reveal things about your work that you might otherwise not see.

Judging in the competition is a chance to help your colleagues by providing that fresh set of eyes. As well, it gives you exposure to work done by your peers as well as a chance to discuss it.

Full details can be found on our site -- click "Competition" in the navigation bar on the left to get to the Competition page.

This time next week

Next Wednesday is our October Social, which we're holding at Jester's (Yonge & St. Clair). It's a chance for STC members and other like-minded professionals to get together over food and drinks to talk over the topics of the day -- professional and otherwise.

There's no fee to get in -- just whatever you care to spend to eat and drink.

Full details on the front page of our site. We're asking people to RSVP so we have an idea of how many people are coming.
